Job summary

Caltrans in California is seeking an Associate Transportation Planner to perform the less complex planning work in the district tribal transportation planning program. You will support Government-to-Government relationships, coordinate with Tribes, and contribute to planning documents and meetings across the district.

The role involves leading work related to tribal engagement, documenting tribal needs in planning programs, and ensuring these are reflected in TPSIS, SHOPP, and PID work products.

Qualifications

• Plans, develops, administers, evaluates, and monitors transportation plans, programs and projects.
• Provides transportation planning expertise to agencies and transit operators.
• Leads coordination with Tribes on planning documents and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Plans and monitors transportation facilities and services including highways, public transit and non-motorized facilities.
• Participates in policy development and implements related legislation.
• Coordinates with Tribes and leads Tribal MOUs and TER0 program administration.
