Are you interested in completing a meaningful and engaging internship? The NNSA's Tribal Education Partnership Program (TEPP)is designed to promote the education and development of the next generation of technical and skilled professionals ready to meet mission needs. TEPPfocuses on expanding experiential learning opportunities for students enrolled at Tribal College and Universities (TCUs)through hands-on activities and professional mentorship from industry experts. Through TEPP, participants develop critical technological skills and gain insights into technical disciplines essential to the NNSA's NuclearSecurity Enterprise.

Appointment Duration and Engagement Expectations
  • Summer appointments typically range from 8-12 weeks, depending onproject assignmentand availability of the participant and mentor. TEPPparticipants will be expected to be fully engaged in-person forthe duration of theirappointment.
  • Academic year appointments can range in length and dependon project assignment and availability of the participant and mentor. TEPP participants can engage either in-person or virtually based on the needs of the project.
Participant Provisions
  • Stipend: varies based on academic level and level of engagement
    • Undergraduate Students - up to $750 per week
    • Master’s Students- up to $850 per week
    • Doctoral Students- up to $950-$1,050 per week
    • Postdoctoral- up to $1,050-$1,150 per week
  • Stipend Supplements:
    • Local Transportation: up to $50 per week for in-person appointments
    • Housing: up to $775per week based on site location for in-person appointments (if relocating >50 miles from current location)
  • Inbound/Outbound Travel Allowance: up to $1,000 total (if relocating >50 miles from current location)

Provisions are subject to change and are determined by NNSA to help participants offset thecost of living during their participation.

Locations

Available opportunities are currently atDOE and NNSA national laboratories across the United Statesand NNSA field/site offices.
