Maron Marvel seeks a highly qualified associate attorney to join its Indianapolis office and its Pennsylvania litigation practice. Associates will work with our litigation teams for national and regional clients handling litigation in Pennsylvania's federal and state courts.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Indiana law license and passage of the Indiana Bar Exam.
• 2–5 years of litigation experience with general liability; product liability experience preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through summary judgment.
• Excellent legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• No disciplinary history, ethics violations, or sanctions from any state bar association.

Responsibilities

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through summary judgment in Indiana state and federal courts.
• Handle intake and evaluation of general liability and product liability matters.
• Draft and file pleadings, written discovery, dispositive motions, and other litigation documents.
• Manage all phases of discovery including depositions and strategy.
• Analyze legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Work with portfolio counsel and the Office Managing Partner on case strategy.
• Assist national counsel in preparing defense experts throughout the process.
• Provide regular case updates and communicate with clients.
