Job summary

State Farm is seeking a San Antonio-based attorney to join the hybrid Claim Litigation office. You will own cases, participate in litigation events, and collaborate with staff while maintaining file ownership and delivering strategic trial development.

The candidate must have a Texas law license, a J.D. from an ABA-accredited school, and experience in civil litigation, including insurance defense, with strong writing and oral communication skills. Travel and relocation considerations may apply.

Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, medical malpractice, personal injury, or workers' compensation
• Jury trial experience is a plus
• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
• Trial, mediation, and deposition experience
• File ownership
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Travel via personal or commercial transportation to job related activities is an essential function

Holly D. Shull & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking an Attorney to join the San Antonio, TX Claim Litigation office. While every day can provide different experiences and opportunities, the role involves case ownership, participating in litigation events, and meeting with clients. We encourage a collaborative environment where our attorneys can assist each other and have access to support staff while maintaining ownership of their files. As a result of not being billed by the hour, our attorneys have the opportunity to strategize on trial and case development as it passes through litigation. Previous experience required

• J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School with excellent academic credentials
• Must have an active law license to practice in the state of Texas and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.

• Potential starting salary range: $117,500.00 - $170,000.00
  • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
  • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
