Job summary

Kanner & Pintaluga in South Carolina seeks an experienced litigator to advocate for clients, meet with them, show compassion, and earn their trust. The attorney will update clients and coordinate with insurers regarding claims, demands, and offers, and prepare cases for trial.

The position requires a Juris Doctor, 6+ years of litigation experience, the ability to handle multiple jury trials as first chair preferred, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school is required.
  • 6+ years of litigation experience.
  • 5+ jury trials as first chair preferred.
  • Member of the South Carolina Bar in good standing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to discuss their case and earn their trust.
  • Update clients and communicate with insurance companies regarding status, demands, and offers.
  • Prepare cases for trial and try the case if needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you will see that our clients receive the best care and obtain excellent results. Attorneys are expected to meet with clients to discuss their case, show compassion and empathy, and demonstrate an ability to earn their trust, confidence, and respect. They will also update clients and communicate with insurance companies from time to time regarding the status of claims, demands, and offers. In addition, the Attorney should be able to prepare the case for trial and try the case if needed.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
  • Full-time
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 6 or more years of litigation experience
  • 5 or more jury trials as first chair preferred
  • Member of the South Carolina Bar and in good standing
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Experience in knowing how to evaluate claims, etc.
  • Superb negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently in an office environment
  • Team-oriented
