Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Plant Healthcare Technician to perform fertilization and pest management on trees, shrubs and lawns at client sites. This on-site role involves diagnosing pest conditions, applying treatments, and maintaining equipment.

You will work with education in horticulture preferred, have a valid license, and join an employee-owned company offering benefits and career development.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in horticulture or landscaping preferred.
• Turf, weed, tree and shrub identification knowledge preferred.
• Ability to complete safety and first aid courses on hire.
• Driver’s license required and licenses for pesticides preferred where law requires.

Responsibilities

• Fertilize and manage pests on trees, shrubs and lawns using spray and injection tools.
• Identify insects, weeds, fungus conditions, and pest-prone areas.
• Educate clients about diagnoses and prescribed treatments.
• Maintain and operate truck and sprayer equipment.
• Monitor methods after application and report progress to clients and supervisors.
