Job summary

Landscape Workshop is seeking a Tree Trimmer to maintain the health, safety, and appearance of trees and shrubs. You will safely operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and climbing gear while following all safety procedures.

The role involves pruning, removal of hazardous limbs, and site maintenance in outdoor environments, with emphasis on teamwork and communication with supervisors and customers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in tree care, forestry, landscaping, or arboriculture is preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate chainsaws and trimming equipment.
  • Knowledge of pruning standards and techniques is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license is preferred; CDL is a plus.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Prune and trim trees to promote healthy growth and enhance appearance.
  • Remove dead or hazardous branches and trees as directed.
  • Operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, and related equipment.
  • Climb trees using ropes and safety equipment when required.
  • Use aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean work sites and dispose of debris.

Description
Position Summary

The Tree Trimmer is responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and appearance of trees and shrubs through trimming, pruning, removal, and general tree care services. This position requires the safe operation of chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, climbing equipment, and other specialized tools while following all company safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prune and trim trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and improve appearance.
  • Remove dead, hazardous, or obstructive branches and trees as directed.
  • Operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other tree care equipment.
  • Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other safety equipment when necessary.
  • Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Clean and maintain work sites, including removal and disposal of branches, logs, and debris.
  • Assist with planting, watering, mulching, and general landscape maintenance as needed.
  • Follow all OSHA, ANSI, company, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and customers.
  • Attend safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, and job site hazards immediately.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, climb, and work at heights.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions.
Working Conditions
  • Outdoor work environment.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and weather extremes.
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear
