Job summary

Southwood Realty is looking for a tree technician to maintain, trim, diagnose, and safely remove trees to keep landscapes healthy and safe at our Southwood properties.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background and drug testing. This role involves outdoor work, operating chainsaws and other equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass background check and drug test.
• Alert, focused, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pruning and Trimming: Cut dead, weak or overgrown branches to improve tree shape and safety.
• Tree Removal: Safely cut down and remove hazardous, diseased, or dead trees.
• Inspect trees for pests, diseases, and structural damage to recommend treatments.
• Use chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and any other approved equipment needed.
• Clear fallen trees and debris after storms.
