Job summary

Arbor Masters is seeking a Tree Climber to join our team in Lincoln, NE. You will participate in all aspects of tree work including pruning, removals, and operating heavy equipment.

You will lead a two‑person pruning crew and ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are prepared and maintained for safe operations. The role requires climbing experience (2–3 years), knowledge of knots and rigging, and the ability to work at heights over 10 feet in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license (class C)
• CDL class A or B with airbrake is preferred but not required
• Minimum of 2–3 years rope and saddle climbing experience and knowledge of knots used in rigging
• Basic knowledge of tree pruning and removal techniques
• Ability to work at heights above 10 feet
• Outdoor labor with exposure to weather
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs regularly
• ISA Certified Arborist (or in process)
• Experience operating bucket or claw trucks preferred and cabling/bracing skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and tools such as bucket trucks, chippers, and pruning equipment.
• Repair, sharpen, and maintain equipment and tools; perform basic felling and aerial rigging.
• Lead a 2-person pruning crew on pruning and removal projects.
• Ensure tools and materials are loaded, maintained, and fueled; inspect equipment.
• Assist Crew Leader in job site set‑up and safety PPE usage.
• Conduct tree risk and job site assessments; communicate with homeowners about Arbor Masters services; perform pre/post‑job walks.
• Communicate effectively with crew members on site.
• Assist in debris cleanup at project completion.
