Job summary

Designs by Sundown is seeking a lead climber foreperson with at least 3 years of climbing experience to guide a crew in delivering premier tree care. The role emphasizes safety, client satisfaction, and continued education in arboriculture. You will lead field operations and uphold the highest standards of workmanship across projects.

The position requires hands-on climbing, bucket truck and rigging proficiency, and a strong focus on safety and quality in outdoor work environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tree climbing and arbor care.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, diseases, pests, structural issues, and pruning techniques.
• Proficiency with climbing equipment and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• ISA Certified Arborist credentials preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew to ensure high standards of tree care and client satisfaction.
• Train and mentor crew, including ground team and new climbers, on safety and best practices.
• Perform rope and saddle climbing, bucket truck operation, aerial lift operations, and chipper operation.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and A300 standards for tree care.
• Plan and execute tree maintenance, removal, and planting projects.
• Conduct site assessments and provide care recommendations.
• Communicate with clients to understand needs and deliver excellent service.
• Maintain records of work, equipment, and safety inspections.

Job Summary

Designs by Sundown is looking for a lead climber foreperson with at least 3 years of climbing experience. Candidate should be passionate about Arboriculture with a desire to continue their education in the field. This position will lead a crew to ensure the highest standards of tree care and client satisfaction. Designs by Sundown is dedicated to preserving the health and beauty of trees in our community. Key Responsibilities

• Execute Lead Climber responsible for the training of crews including ground team and new climbers to ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices.
• Provide proficient rope and saddle climbing, bucket truck operation, areal lift operations, chipper operation, onsite safety protocols, pruning, rigging, and A300 standards for tree care operations.
• Exercise extensive knowledge of tree species, pruning practices, Identification of hazards and defects and ability to safely navigate them.
• Plan and execute tree maintenance, removal, and planting projects.
• Conduct site assessments and provide recommendations for tree care services.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional client service.
• Train and mentor team members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and safety inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tree climbing and arbor care.
• Strong knowledge of tree biology, diseases, pests, structural issues, treatment methods, and proper pruning techniques.
• Proficiency in the use of climbing equipment and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Certified Arborist credentials from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Preferred
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in arboriculture.
• Proficient record-keeping and documentation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
