Joshua Tree Experts in Stockertown, PA is seeking an experienced Tree Care Groundsperson to join our premiere team of tree care, lawn care, and pest control professionals. The Groundsperson works with a 2 to 4-person crew assisting in removal, pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations and handles communication with crew members and the public when climbers are aloft.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in tree care operations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work 40 hours or more per week.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily.
• Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and public.
• Perform pruning and reducing.
• Safely use tree care operations equipment including gas powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippers.
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush and debris.
• Report to work on time each day.
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers.
• Maintain professional image.
• Provide friendly and excellent customer service.
• Maintain and service equipment, as needed.
• Follows safety culture and safety procedures.
• Set up safety and traffic control measures for job sites.

The Groundsperson works alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, tree pruning, stump grinding and wood chipper operations. He/she is responsible for all communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.
