Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a licensed RN or LPN to join our team as a supervising nurse within our post-acute care centers in Mississippi. The role involves administering medications, providing treatments, monitoring resident responses, and maintaining safe medication handling practices.

You will collaborate with physicians, residents, and staff to ensure high-quality care and adherence to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current license by State Board of Nursing (RN or LPN).
• Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
• Ability to handle varied duties with frequent changes in daily schedule.
• Ability to work closely with residents, physicians and staff.
• Capable of applying nursing standards in practice.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications, orally and by injections.
• Provides treatments to residents per physician orders.
• Observes residents' reactions to medications and treatments.
• Ensures proper handling and storage of medications and controlled substances.
• Maintains resident medical records through thorough documentation.
• Communicates changes in resident condition to supervisor and attending physician.
• Signs off on medications and treatments as required by policy.
• Educates residents and families regarding care.
• Leads and supervises CNAs; assigns daily work to achieve positive outcomes.

• Change in resident’s condition will be reported to supervisor andattendingphysician.
• Signs off that medication and treatments were given/provided, as required by policy.
• Maintains resident’s medical record by way of documentation, as required by policy.
• Provides education to residents and families regarding care.
• Assists in planning, supervising and instructing C.N.T.’s; assigns daily work assignments to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
• Implements and maintains policies and procedures.
• Ensures that safe work practices are utilized.
• Ensures proper infection control techniques are utilized.

Qualifications

• Has a currentlicense by the State Board of Nursing, as an R.N. or L.P.N.
• Must have the ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change, as work schedule will change on a daily basis.
• Able to work intensely with residents, physicians, and staff.
• Capable of working to prescribe nursing standards.
• Goodinterpersonal and communication skills; has an interest to perform aservice.
