Job summary

Central City Concern's 16XBurnside Recovery Center provides extended residential treatment for individuals transitioning out of detox services. Treatment Assistants deliver patient-centered care, de-escalation, and close supervision in a 24-hour facility, collaborating with counselors and Milieu Supervisors to foster a safe, supportive environment.

Qualified applicants will have at least a GED, 1 year of related experience or an equivalent degree, knowledge of the Twelve-Step process, and

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications as listed: HSD/GED with related field or 1–2 years of relevant experience; associate or bachelor’s degree options.
• Knowledge of Twelve-Step recovery process; CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Ability to walk, lift heavy objects, and pass pre-employment screenings (drug, TB, background).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care and supervise patients in a 24-hour residential setting.
• De-escalate disruptive behaviors and maintain a safe milieu.
• Observe and report changes to counselors and clinical staff.
• Assist with vitals during medication passes and as needed.
• Coordinate activities per weekly schedule and assist with daily chores.
• Attend mandatory CCC trainings and maintain records.

Central City Concern's 16XBurnside Recovery Center, a state-of-the‑art facility designed to meet a critical need in our community: providing extended residential treatment for individuals transitioning out of Hooper Detoxification and Stabilization Center. Treatment Assistants are responsible for providing care and close intensive supervision to all patients in a 24‑hour residential treatment facility. General responsibilities include: providing patient-centered care, using de-escalation skills, observing and reporting behaviors and supporting a healthy and safe milieu environment, providing high-quality customer service, and other duties as needed. This position works closely with the Milieu Supervisor, counselors, and other staff to develop and implement a supportive environment for patients.

Tuesday - Saturday, 2:45pm - 11:15pm (Sunday & Monday Off)

Compensation

$23.85/hr - $31.66/hr Final comp will be determined based on relevant experience, education, credentials/licensure, and internal equity. External candidates: Offer max $27.68 per our Union contract.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience (must meet one of the following):
• HSD/GED AND one (1) year of work experience in a related field (e.g. shelter, residential or day treatment, counseling, substance abuse treatment) OR
• HSD/GED AND two (2) years of in-person, high-volume customer service experience OR two (2) years of volunteer experience in a related field which would be considered half-credit (e.g. 4 years of customer service in a non-medical office setting would be considered 2 years credit; 2 years volunteer in related field is considered 1 year) OR
• Associate’s degree in Social Services, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field OR
• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
• Knowledge of Twelve-Step Recovery process.
• Have, or able to obtain, Adult CPR prior to start date.
• Must have current Adult First Aid Certification prior to start date.
• Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug‑free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug‑Free Workplace Act of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
• Valid driver’s license preferred. If required to drive, must pass a DMV background check, and be designated an "acceptable" driver as outlined in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety Policy. If required to drive, must pass an initial driver’s training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training.
• Must generally have the ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects, and climb stairs with reasonable or no accommodation.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
• Must adhere to agency’s non‑discrimination policies.
• Ability to effectively interact with coworkers and patients with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious views, political affiliations, sexual orientation and treat each individual with respect and dignity.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care while promoting dignity, independence, and choice, and regularly observes physical and mental conditions and reports changes to counselor and/or appropriate center staff.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with patients, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Initiates emergency response procedures as required.
• Monitor patients by conducting bed check census on night shift. Make rounds of dorm areas, day room, and restrooms.
• Assist RN by taking patient’s vital signs as requested, record and chart per procedure during medication pass. Inform nursing staff of any unusual vital signs.
• Coordinate residents’ activities as detailed on the weekly schedule.
• Facility maintenance, including monitoring and supervision of patients’ performance of facility chores and weekly tasks.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Answer phone and perform various clerical duties as needed.
• Observe self-administered patient medications and maintain accurate records. Report to clinical and medical staff non‑adherence to medication compliance.
• Administer and document observed urine drug screen (UDS) analysis.
• Assist patients in completing paperwork from other agencies.
• If driving, transport residents to and from activities and appointments as needed.
• Participate in non‑clinical patient and staff group meetings.
• Review records for accuracy and maintain filing systems.
• Implement self‑sufficiency, treatment or discharge plans as directed by clinical staff.
• Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediate reporting of any PHI breach of CCC or outside provider health records to the CCC
• Legal and Quality departments and the program administrator.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
