Job summary

EOG Resources is seeking a Treasury Specialist to join the Treasury Operations team in downtown Houston. You will manage daily cash flow, oversee banking relationships, and support payments, receipts, liquidity planning, and forecasting in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes process improvement, automation initiatives, and treasury modernization while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related business discipline is required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in corporate treasury or banking roles.
  • Strong cash management, bank account administration, payments, liquidity management and forecasting experience.
  • Experience with treasury workstations (Treasura, Kyriba, GTreasury) and bank platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international payment formats (ISO 20022 XML, BAI, NACHA, SWIFT) and automation projects is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or similar analytics tools are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transaction processing, data entry, and confirmation activities within the treasury workstation (Treasura).
  • Manage opening, maintenance, administration, and closing of bank accounts.
  • Monitor daily cash positions across subsidiaries, identify funding needs, optimize liquidity, and support cash investments.
  • Execute treasury operations including wire transfers, ACH, positive pay, match pay, stop payments, and secure transmissions across banking platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance payment processing controls for domestic and international payments.
  • Update daily and month-end cash forecasts and prepare treasury reports for Accounting and Senior Management.
  • Respond to inquiries from banking partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Support implementation and testing of payment file formats and secure bank transmission protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to automate treasury processes using workstation capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Legal, Tax, IS, and business units to ensure efficient treasury operations.

Description

The Treasury Specialist plays a key role as a member of the Treasury Operations team responsible for managing the day-to-day cash flow of the company. This position is best suited for an experienced corporate treasury practitioner or banking professional who can apply industry best practices to improve efficiency, controls, and overall cash management.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment as part of a small, high-performing team where your work will directly impact payments, receipts, liquidity management, cash forecasting, banking operations, and cash investments. The role ensures timely and accurate execution of treasury operations, supports adherence to internal controls and company policies, and actively contributes to process improvements, automation initiatives, and treasury modernization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical treasury knowledge with analytical skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and banking partners. The position is 100% in-office in downtown Houston, Texas.

  • Monitor daily cash positions across EOG and its subsidiaries, identify funding requirements, optimize liquidity, and support cash investment decisions.
  • Execute treasury operational activities including wire transfers, ACH payments, positive pay, match pay, stop payments, in-house check printing, and exception management across multiple banking platforms.
  • Maintain and enhance payment processing controls while ensuring accurate and timely execution of domestic and international payments.
  • Update daily and month-end cash forecasts and prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly treasury reports for Accounting and Senior Management.
  • Respond to inquiries from banking partners, internal stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Support the implementation, testing, validation, and ongoing administration of domestic and international payment file formats and secure bank transmission protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to automate treasury processes by leveraging workstation capabilities, banking technologies, process automation, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate across EOG's organization including Accounting, Legal, Tax, IS, and international business units to ensure efficient treasury operations.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Finance, Accounting or related business discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a corporate treasury or banking practitioner.
  • Demonstrated experience with cash management, bank account administration, payments, liquidity management, cash forecasting, and treasury controls.
  • Experience with treasury workstations (Treasura, Kyriba, GTreasury, etc.) and various bank platforms is preferred.
  • Highly desired experience implementing, testing, and supporting domestic and international payment file formats (ISO 20022 XML, BAI, NACHA, SWIFT, host-to-host, SFTP, API connectivity, or other bank transmission methods).
  • Experience participating in treasury technology implementations, automation initiatives, AI-enabled process improvements or digital transformation projects within a treasury operations environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or other data analytics tools are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple daily deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal business partners, financial institutions, and external vendors.
  • Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
