Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

The Treasury Management Sales Officer is responsible for developing, supporting, and expanding treasury management relationships with commercial and business customers. This position works closely with commercial lenders, commercial bankers, retail bankers, treasury management support, onboarding, operations, and other internal partners to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate treasury management products and services, and ensure timely delivery of solutions. The role requires a consultative sales approach, strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve customer issues while supporting the bank’s sales, service, risk management, and compliance expectations.

  • Work in conjunction with commercial lenders, commercial bankers, retail bankers, and other internal partners to identify and deliver treasury management solutions to business customers and prospects.
  • Contact prospective commercial customers to develop new treasury management business and expand existing relationships.
  • Meet with existing and prospective customers in person, by phone, and through online meetings to assess needs, service accounts, and recommend solutions that support customer objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, product recommendations, pricing requests, and related documentation.
  • Explain treasury management products and services, including payment systems, depository products, receivables and payables solutions, fraud prevention tools, information reporting, liquidity services, and other related services.
  • Analyze new business opportunities, including relationship profitability, fee income potential, deposit generation, and overall customer value.
  • Meet assigned annual goals for treasury management sales, fee income, deposit growth, relationship expansion, and customer retention.
  • Assist with the design, implementation, onboarding, documentation, billing setup, and proper installation of treasury management services in coordination with support and operations teams.
  • Work with treasury management support teams to ensure accurate billing, account analysis, service setup, and ongoing customer support.
  • Ensure proper legal documentation is completed and maintained for all treasury management products and services.
  • Resolve complex customer issues promptly and professionally, coordinating with clients, commercial banking professionals, support teams, and management as appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales activity, pipeline, business development, and other required reporting.
  • Assist with training and developing commercial and retail team members on treasury management products, pricing, and sales opportunities.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of treasury management products, payment systems, depository services, operational delivery, industry trends, bank policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support the safety and soundness of treasury management functions and customer activity by following the bank’s risk management policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, including senior management, commercial lending, branch network, operations, and other departments.
  • Represent the bank professionally in customer meetings, internal meetings, and community or business development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field preferred; an equivalent combination of treasury management, banking, sales, or related financial services experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in retail banking, commercial banking, treasury management, cash management, financial services sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with outside sales calling goals, business development, or relationship management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, depository products, treasury management services, and operational delivery preferred.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and follow-through skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to manage customer issues with professionalism, urgency, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships with customers, coworkers, commercial bankers, retail bankers, and other internal partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to accurately follow instructions, multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with team goals and bank expectations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using online systems and connecting remotely with customers through Webex or similar meeting software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally within the assigned market area, including Clarksville, TN, metro Nashville, Murfreesboro, TN and surrounding communities where Lawrence Bank branches operate, to meet with customers and other team members as needed.

Work Environment and Expectations

This position is expected to work full-time in office from or near the Clarksville, TN market. Light travel is required to meet with customers, internal team members, attend training, and participate in community or business development activities as needed. The role requires regular interaction with customers and bank employees in person, by phone, through email, and through online meeting platforms.

Banking is a highly regulated industry, and the Treasury Management Sales Officer is expected to acquire and maintain proficiency in the bank’s policies and procedures, adhere to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and complete assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
