Job summary

National Life Group is offering a 10-week paidTreasury internship in Addison, TX. The program provides hands-on exposure to treasury functions, daily cash processing, and collaboration across the Treasury team.

You will assist with deposits, testing procedures, and ongoing initiatives, with core days Monday through Thursday onsite. Ideal candidates have coursework in Finance or Business Administration, proficiency with MS Office, and a strong financial acumen.

• Shadow the Cash Manager on the cash management process when possible.
• Support the Director of Treasury in the Rating Agency process.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will provide the incumbent with Treasury knowledge and skills by exposing the intern to the breadth of Treasury functions. This position will be accountable for completing daily Treasury processes, testing documented procedures, assisting in cash management activities, and providing support to ongoing Treasury initiatives.

This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you will be in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days. Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process incoming cash equivalents.
• Complete daily deposits by reconciling bank statements and uploading deposits into National Life's ledger.
• Collaborate with the Treasury team in validating documented processes and providing appropriate updates as identified.
• Support ongoing Treasury initiatives that may require collaboration with other business areas.
• Time permitting, the incumbent may also become involved in the following:
  • Update Treasury reporting and refine as appropriate.
  • Shadow the Cash Manager on the cash management process.
  • Support the Director of Treasury in the Rating Agency process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
