Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies North America seeks a Treasury Director to lead treasury, liquidity, financing, and financial risk activities across the US and Canada. You will partner with the Regional CFO to safeguard liquidity, improve cash forecasting, optimize funding and cash repatriation, and manage FX, rates, commodities, and counterparty risk.

You will oversee banking relationships, treasury systems, capital structure, and guarantees, while ensuring compliance with Veolia Group policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field.
  • MBA, master's degree, or professional certifications such as CTP, CFA, CPA, or ACT preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, finance, or banking, ideally in a multinational.
  • Experience leading treasury professionals and providing direction across multiple countries/entities.
  • Deep expertise in liquidity management, cash forecasting, working capital, cash pooling, intercompany funding, and financing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead treasury and financing activities across the North American region.

  • Ensure liquidity and proper application of financing/treasury rules; document and route financing requests.
  • Manage cash consumption through reporting and limits; develop and compare cash forecasts with actuals.
  • Assess quarterly free cash flow and net debt; reconcile with Vector and improve forecasting reliability.
  • Maximize cash repatriation and manage non-cash pooled accounts.
  • Identify FX, interest rate, commodity, liquidity, and counterparty risks; implement hedging strategies.
  • Provide Level 1 support for Treasury Management System usage within the region.
  • Oversee payment management, ensure payment security, and prevent fraud.
  • Verify dividend policy application and appropriate debt/equity structure.
  • Engage with regional banks; manage bank accounts and optimize cash pooling; maintain delegations.
  • Prepare regional financing committee and follow up on actions.
  • Understand tax impacts of financing/treasury decisions; manage guarantees with expert teams.

Job Description

The Treasury Director will lead all treasury, liquidity, financing, and financial risk activities across the North American region (US and Canada), serving as a strategic partner to the Regional CFO and Veolia Water Tech Corporate Treasury. This role will safeguard the organization's financial health by ensuring adequate liquidity, strengthening cash flow forecasting, optimizing funding and cash repatriation, and actively managing foreign exchange, interest rate, commodity, and counterparty risks. The Director will also oversee banking relationships, payment security, treasury systems, capital structure, and the governance of bank and parent company guarantees, ensuring compliance with Veolia Group policies and local requirements. Through disciplined oversight, forward-looking analysis, and close collaboration with finance, legal, commercial, and operational teams, this leader will improve cash generation, reduce financial exposure, and support sustainable growth across the region.

Job Duties
  • Manages and supervises all aspects related to treasury and financing in their region.
  • Understands, anticipates, and monitors the cash generation/consumption of the entities and provides analysis to the Regional CFO.
  • Ensures a sufficient level of liquidity for their entities, helps them anticipate and manage their financing needs, while ensuring the proper application of the Group's financing and treasury rules, distinguishing between capital expenditures, working capital requirements, growth financing, and M&A (mergers and acquisitions). Documents financing requests and forwards them to the Water Tech Corporate Treasury. Ensures that documentation (cash agreements, loan agreements, etc.) is up to date.
  • Controls the level of cash consumption of the entities through reporting and management of the entities' current account limits.
  • Develops cash forecasts, challenges their entities, and informs/explains them to the Water Tech Corporate Treasury. Then compare actual cash flow with the forecasts and use the results to improve the quality and reliability of future forecasts. Understands the cash generation levers within their scope.
  • Based on cash positions and forecasts, assess the landing of quarterly free cash flow (using the "Simplified Free Cash Flow" and "Total Cash Generation" ratios) and of net debt, in close collaboration with the FP&A teams. Following each Vector closing, perform a systematic reconciliation between the Treasury's actual cash generation and the free cash flow from Vector (the Group consolidation system), with a view to continuous improvement
  • Maximizes and automates cash repatriation to the group's centralizing entities for any non-cash pooled accounts.
  • Identifies financial risks (exposure to foreign exchange risk, interest rate volatility, commodities, counterparty risk) and defines and implements solutions to address them, in coordination with the Veolia Group trading room; Analyzes the foreign exchange result in Vector and manages the portfolio of outstanding hedges.
  • Provides Level 1 support for the use and management of the TMS (Treasury Management System) within their region: helps users, answers requests, indicates modifications to be made to the treasury system, and enters the necessary transactions.
  • Intervenes in payment management: Monitoring and management of payment incidents. Approval of payment batches before sending to Next. Ensures the security of payment methods and implements the necessary measures to prevent any fraud.
  • Verifies the proper application of the dividend policy and the appropriate debt/equity structure of the entities' balance sheets.
  • Interacts regularly with the banks operating in their geographical area. Manages bank accounts in liaison with the Water Tech Corporate Treasury, whether the accounts are pooled or non-pooled. Actively participates in refocusing the banking relationship towards the Veolia Group's partner banks. Ensures that the cash pool operates smoothly in their region and makes adjustments as needed. Ensures that delegations of banking authority are up to date with the current organization.
  • Is responsible for preparing a regional financing committee and follows up on the actions decided during the committee.
  • Takes an interest in and understands the tax impacts of any financing/ treasury situations/ decisions.
  • Manages the guarantees (bank guarantees, surety bonds and Corporate guarantees) on his perimeter, with the help of expert teams of Corporate
Job Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, working capital, cash pooling, intercompany funding, dividend repatriation, and short- and long-term financing.
  • Proven ability to identify and manage foreign exchange, interest rate, commodity, liquidity, and counterparty risks, including the execution of appropriate hedging strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate financing, debt and equity structures, capital allocation, credit facilities, M&A financing, and the management of bank and parent company guarantees.
  • Experience managing global banking relationships, bank accounts, signatory authorities, payment operations, fraud-prevention controls, and cash-pooling arrangements.
  • Advanced proficiency with Treasury Management Systems, ERP platforms, banking tools, financial modeling, data analytics, and treasury automation or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of treasury governance, internal controls, audit requirements, tax, transfer pricing, accounting, and legal considerations related to cross-border transactions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed, international environment.

The estimated salary range for this role is $136K - 169K plus a 20% annual bonus.
