Treasury Director
Job Description

The Director, Treasury & Financial Operations leads the organizations debt and capital markets strategy, liquidity and cash management, investments, banking relationships, rating agency and investor relations, financial operations, payroll, and tax. This role oversees three senior leaders and a broader team of approximately 2530 professionals. The position is ideal for a strategic, innovative treasury and finance executive who can shape how the organization funds significant growth and capital investment, rather than simply maintaining existing processes. The Director will work closely with the CFO and is viewed as a potential successor in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall treasury and financial operations function, including debt and capital markets, liquidity, cash and investments, banking relationships, rating agencies and investor relations, financial operations, payroll, and tax.
  • Develop and execute financing strategies to support significant growth and capital investment, bringing innovative ideas and an external perspective to funding structures and capital markets activity.
  • Oversee debt issuance activities, including planning, structuring, and execution of public finance transactions such as tax-exempt debt, revenue bonds, and other capital markets instruments.
  • Manage relationships with underwriters, municipal advisors, bond counsel, rating agencies, and other external financing partners to optimize terms, maintain strong credit profiles, and support strategic objectives.
  • Direct liquidity management, cash forecasting, and short- and long-term investment strategies to ensure adequate funding, risk management, and efficient use of capital.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to three senior leaders overseeing treasury, financial operations, and payroll, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and high performance across a team of approximately 2530 professionals.
  • Oversee financial operations and payroll functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient processes across the organization.
  • Partner with tax and finance teams to ensure appropriate tax planning, compliance, and integration of tax considerations into financing decisions.
  • Lead or play a key role in ERP-related financial and treasury components, collaborating closely on system implementations and enhancements involving tools such as PeopleSoft and Excel, as well as banking platforms.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in financial services or related industries can be a strong asset.
  • Previous roles at the director level or higher in treasury, finance, or CFO-track positions are advantageous.
  • Strong change leadership skills, with the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in established environments.
  • High level of executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build credibility quickly.
  • Comfort working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment with multiple banking relationships and financial tools.
Work Environment

The role operates in a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of working in the office two days per week, and potentially more frequently during the first few months to build relationships and gain a deep understanding of the organization. The Director leads a team of approximately 2530 professionals through three senior direct reports who oversee treasury, financial operations, and payroll. The environment is dynamic and growth-oriented, with significant capital investment underway and a strong emphasis on innovation in financing and operations. The organization uses Excel, PeopleSoft, and a variety of banking tools and platforms to manage cash, investments, and banking relationships across multiple institutions.
