Job summary

Banc of California is seeking a Treasury Analyst to administer daily processes supporting the bank's balance sheet risk and liquidity management in Santa Ana, CA. You will work with management and ALCO to develop risk profiles and prepare material for Finance Committees.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Finance/Economics/Accounting, at least 2 years in corporate finance or treasury, and proficiency with Essbase, Power BI, SQL or Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field is required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in corporate finance, banking or treasury preferred.
  • Experience with Essbase or other technical tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Administers daily and monthly processes supporting analytical framework and risk of the balance sheet.
  • Supports daily cash settlement and liquidity monitoring with Treasury team.
  • Prepares Management Finance Committee and Board Finance Committee materials.
  • Creates and enhances reporting to meet business needs.
  • Develops treasury reporting tools to improve decision-making.
  • Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley, audit, and policy compliance requests.
  • Maintains banking documentation, account structures and access controls.
  • Follows established policies and performs other duties as assigned.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Responsible for administering daily processes that support the operational activities of the department and works closely with management and ALCO to develop balance sheet risk profiles as part of the Bank’s risk monitoring program. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Administers daily and monthly processes necessary to support the analytical framework, valuation, and risk of the Bank’s balance sheet, utilizing Essbase and other tools; includes maintaining the daily balance sheet report.
  • Support daily cash settlement process, working with the Treasury team to monitor daily liquidity position and determine daily borrowing activity.
  • Assists in the preparation of Management Finance Committee and Board Finance Committee materials.
  • Creates new reporting and enhances current reporting to meet business needs.
  • Develop and enhance treasury reporting and analytical tools to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Assists with compliance requests associated with Sarbanes-Oxley, internal and external audit, accounting and company policies.
  • Maintain banking documentation, account structures, signers, and user administration
  • Follow all established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field required.
  • 2+ years” experience working in corporate finance, preferably in a banking or treasury environment.
  • Competency in Essbase or other technical tools (Power BI, SQL, Python) a plus
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Competently utilize computer software – MS Word, Excel, databases and valuation models are an integral part of day to day activity.
  • Ability to work regularly scheduled hours, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some weekend or evening hours as needed depending on business need.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
  • The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving a personally owned vehicle as necessary which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
