Job summary

LANXESS is seeking a Treasury Specialist in Pittsburgh to own daily U.S. and Canada cash positioning and reconciliations, resolve exceptions, coordinate correcting entries and elevate liquidity or control issues within policy and delegated authority.

You will execute and monitor payments, manage bank operations, cash receipts and KYC, produce treasury reporting, and collaborate with Finance, Legal and IT to drive improvements using AI, analytics and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate Treasury and cash management, including bank operations, reconciliations, payments, cash receipts and banking controls.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, with ability to investigate root causes and resolve issues.
• Clear communication and business-partnering skills across functions.

Job Highlights

• Own daily U.S. and Canada cash positioning and reconciliations, resolve exceptions, coordinate correcting entries and elevate liquidity or control issues.
• Execute and monitor manual, urgent and exception payments within policy and delegated authority, ensuring proper documentation, approvals and segregation of duties.
• Manage check and cash-receipt processing, identify remittances, resolve unidentified receipts and help move recurring activity to efficient digital channels.
• Produce Treasury reporting and analysis that explains cash and liquidity drivers, anticipates business impacts and supports decisions across Business Units and corporate functions.
• Maintain bank-account records, signatories, KYC documentation and digital-banking access, including periodic access reviews and coordination of account openings, changes and closures.
• Develop and implement Treasury improvements using approved AI, analytics and automation tools, with data protection, human review and measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy and controls.
• Coordinate assigned Sustainability-linked Treasury activities, including CITSS/ETS processes, maintaining operating calendars, documentation and cash and settlement coordination.
• Partner across Finance, Business Units, Legal, Sustainability and IT to resolve issues end to end, maintain procedures, support audits and control remediation, and provide backup for core Treasury processes.

Experience / Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
• 3- 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate Treasury and cash management, including bank operations, reconciliations, payments, cash receipts and banking controls.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate root causes, develop recommendations and independently carry issues through resolution.
• Clear communication and business-partnering skills, with the ability to work across functions, understand business needs and influence without direct authority.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to learn ERP, Treasury management, banking and analytics tools; ability to use approved AI and automation responsibly, including data protection, output validation and human review.
• Treasury, finance, banking, process-improvement or analytics credentials preferred.
• This is a HYBRID role with the expectation to be on-site in the Pittsburgh office at least three days per week eve
