Job summary

Ideal Dental is seeking a Periodontic Dental Assistant to support the periodontic team and patients throughout treatment. You’ll be provided with training, tools, and growth opportunities in a collaborative, patient-focused setting. Together we advance patient smiles and long-term oral health.

Responsibilities include assisting the periodontist, sterilizing instruments, taking X-rays, preparing rooms, and conveying post‑treatment care. A positive, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of Periodontic or Surgical (OS) experience.
• Must be willing to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests with a smile.
• Assisting Peridontist with procedures.
• Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays.
• Preparing treatment rooms.
• Assisting with conscious and IV sedation.
• Performing X-rays.
• Charting existing and recommended treatments.
• Performing other duties as required to support the office and periodontic team.

What you'll do:

• Create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their periodontic journey.

• Support patients through complex periodontic procedures, helping them feel informed, calm, and confident throughout their treatment experience.

• Work alongside the Periodontist to ensure precision, efficiency, and a smooth clinical experience tailored to each patient’s needs.

• Educate patients on post‑treatment care and recovery to promote healing and long‑term oral health.

• Coordinate care and follow‑ups, ensuring patients receive timely treatment and clear communication throughout their visit.

• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support clinical decision‑making and continuity of care.

• Foster a collaborative team environment by staying proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high‑quality specialty care.

• Contribute to the success of the periodontic practice by helping manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.
