Job summary

Fabcon in Lansing, MI is seeking a construction laborer to support welding crews in erecting precast concrete panels. You will perform general labor tasks, follow foreperson guidance, and participate in safe, efficient field operations.

Primary duties include handling materials, operating equipment safely, and adhering to established safety policies. Suitable candidates will have welding experience and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required.
• Ability to carry out simple and complex verbal instructions.
• Ability to work from heights (ladders and aerial work platforms).
• Ability to obtain membership to a local union.
• General knowledge of construction practices.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel extensively (50% of the time or more) and overtime as needed.

• Ability to travel extensively (50% of the time or more, including overnights) and work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction or manual labor experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Welder (AWS, 3g & 4g)

Physical Requirements Field: Must be able to traverse uneven ground, move minimum of 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, climb on a flatbed semi-trailer.
