Job summary

Precision Plumbing & Service, LLC is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to oversee major plumbing projects across North Carolina and South Carolina. The role demands 10+ years of plumbing experience with at least 5 years in supervision, leading crews of 20+ on multimillion-dollar industrial and healthcare facilities.

Travel is extensive; candidates must be willing to stay on project sites and coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of plumbing experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar commercial and industrial projects.
  • Strong healthcare plumbing experience including hospitals and medical facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Excellent leadership, scheduling, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay on project sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all plumbing installation and repair work including domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm.
  • Manage large crews including Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, Laborers, and Subcontractors
  • Lead daily huddles, weekly planning meetings, and 4-week look-ahead schedules
  • Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, engineers, and other trades
  • Represent Precision Plumbing professionally on all job sites
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and plumbing codes
  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings and daily jobsite reports using company technology
  • Plan and track materials, equipment, deliveries, and manpower needs
  • Ensure installations meet contract requirements, healthcare standards, and local codes
  • Serve as the Competent Person on-site
  • Enforce OSHA, company, and client safety policies
  • Conduct daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, safety walks, and PPE inspections
  • Complete all required safety documentation accurately and on time
  • Coach and mentor Foremen and crew members to improve leadership, productivity, and craftsmanship
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Support workforce development and succession planning within the field teams

We are currently seeking a seasoned Traveling Superintendent to oversee major projects across North Carolina and South Carolina.

Position Summary

The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing plumbing construction projects exceeding $7.5 million in value, with a strong emphasis on healthcare facilities such as hospitals, medical office buildings, and specialty care centers. This role leads crews of 20+ employees across multiple job sites, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and productivity.

As a front‑line representative of Precision Plumbing, the Superintendent will coordinate closely with Project Managers, clients, inspectors, and trade partners to successfully deliver on projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all plumbing installation and repair work including domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm.
  • Manage large crews including Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, Laborers, and Subcontractors
  • Lead daily huddles, weekly planning meetings, and 4‑week look‑ahead schedules
  • Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, engineers, and other trades
  • Represent Precision Plumbing professionally on all job sites
Project Execution & Documentation
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and plumbing codes

  • Ensure installations meet contract requirements, healthcare standards, and local codes
Safety Leadership
  • Serve as the Competent Person on‑site

Working Conditions
  • Projects are located throughout North Carolina and South Carolina
  • Extended travel and overnight stays are required
  • Must be available by phone outside normal work hours to support project needs
