Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction is seeking a Superintendent for hospitality projects, requiring travel and ownership of fast-paced field work from preconstruction through turnover. You will lead field operations, ensure safety, and maintain client relationships with support from the project team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years on complex hospitality sites, a strong safety background, and experience managing people.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Superintendent on hospitality projects $10–$40M.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and attention to detail.
• Out-of-the-ground complex renovations in occupied/unoccupied settings.
• Extensive knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Experience in managing, training and developing people.
• Experience in computer technology.
• National travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations, including safety, coordination, quality, progress, and site cleanliness.
• Plan logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections, and execution with the PM during preconstruction.
• Maintain an accurate project schedule with the PM and address changes promptly.
• Communicate site conditions, scope changes, subcontractor performance, and risks to cost or schedule.
• Hold subs and vendors accountable while building productive relationships.
• Support growth of field team members and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

First Finish is seeking Superintendents who enjoy traveling and taking ownership of fast-paced construction projects. You’ll lead work in the field from preconstruction through turnover, with the support and resources needed to deliver a safe, high-quality project. You’ll also build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the project team.

• Lead daily field operations, including site safety, subcontractor coordination, quality control, progress, and site cleanliness.
• Work with the project manager during preconstruction to plan logistics, phasing, milestones, inspections, and project execution.
• Maintain an accurate project schedule with the project manager, address changes promptly, and keep work on track.
• Communicate clearly with the project team about site conditions, changes in scope, subcontractor performance, and risks to cost or schedule.
• Hold subcontractors and vendors accountable while treating them fairly and building productive working relationships.
• Support the growth of field team members and maintain a strong working relationship with the client throughout the project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Superintendent on complex hospitality projects ranging from $10-40M.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and possess the ability to pay close attention to the crucial details of hospitality construction.
• Project experience should include out of the ground complex renovation work in occupied and unoccupied environments, urban and suburban work locations, and a complete understanding of high-level finishes.
• Extensive knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Experience in managing, training and developing people.
• Experience in computer technology.
• National Travel is required for this position.

Salary Range Information

Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000Placement within the listed range depends on many factors including, but not limited to years of experience, project size capability (for Construction & Field roles) and internal company equity.
