Job summary

Sevan Multi-Site Solutions is seeking a Traveling Skilled Construction Technician to support interior construction on tenant improvements, renovations, and light industrial projects across the United States. This cross-trained role travels extensively, working under a Foreman/Superintendent to perform framing, drywall, ceilings, doors/hardware, finishes, and punch list tasks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction, renovation, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with general construction activities including demolition, framing, drywall, ceilings, finishes, and punch lists.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and basic construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specs.
• Experience on commercial construction, renovation, or occupied facilities preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred and willingness to travel extensively across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction activities to support tenant improvements, renovations, retail refresh, and light industrial projects.
• Independently execute interior construction scopes and assist Multi-Trade Carpenters on larger installations.
• Demolition and removal of existing materials and finishes as needed.
• Support framing, gypsum board systems, acoustical ceilings, and interior specialties.
• Handle flooring prep, patching, leveling, and surface prep tasks.
• Assist with doors, frames, hardware, trim, and finish carpentry components.
• Support painting, drywall finishing, tile installation, punch lists, and project closeout.
• Read drawings, perform basic layout and measurements, and prepare materials.
• Load/unload equipment, operate hand/power tools safely, and maintain a clean worksite.
• Coordinate with foreman and project team; assist mobilization/demobilization; travel as required.

Summary

The Traveling Skilled Construction Technician is a cross-trained craft professional responsible for supporting interior construction activities on tenant improvement, renovation, retail refresh, and light industrial projects throughout the United States. This is a travel-intensive role requiring deployment to project locations nationwide in support of Sevan’s self-perform operations. Working under the direction of a Foreman and/or Superintendent, this role performs a variety of construction tasks across multiple trades, including framing, drywall, ceilings, flooring preparation, doors and hardware, finishes, and punch list activities.

Travel Requirements

• Candidates must reside in the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex.
• Extensive nationwide travel is required.
• Employees should expect to travel to project locations for extended periods based on business needs.
• Company-paid lodging, travel accommodations, and applicable per diem are provided in accordance with company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general construction activities supporting tenant improvement, renovation, retail refresh, and light industrial projects.
• Independently execute assigned interior construction scopes based on skill level and support Multi-Trade Carpenters on larger or more complex installations, including framing, drywall, ceilings, doors and hardware, flooring preparation, and finish work.
• Perform selective demolition and removal of existing building materials and finishes.
• Support installation of metal stud framing, gypsum board systems, acoustical ceilings (ACT), and interior specialties.
• Perform flooring preparation activities, including patching, leveling, grinding, and surface preparation.
• Assist with installation of doors, frames, hardware, trim, and finish carpentry components.
• Support painting, drywall finishing, tile installation, punch list, and project closeout activities as assigned.
• Read and interpret basic construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned tasks.
• Perform basic layout, measurements, and material preparation for assigned work activities.
• Load, unload, transport, stage, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout all phases of construction.
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and all applicable regulations.
• Execute assigned work activities under the direction of the Foreman and coordinate effectively with project team members.
• Assist with project mobilization and demobilization activities.
• Travel to project locations as required.
• Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and skill development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Two (2) or more years of construction, renovation, tenant improvement, retail, hospitality, industrial, facilities maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Experience performing general construction activities, including demolition, framing support, drywall installation, ceilings, material handling, flooring preparation, and punch list work preferred.
• Experience safely using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and basic construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings, specifications, and work instructions preferred.
• Experience working on commercial construction, renovation, or occupied-facility projects preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $24- $32 per hour.
• Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance.

Work Conditions

This is a travel-intensive, field-based role supporting projects nationwide. Extensive travel to work on-site at active construction locations for extended periods based on project needs. Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine. Involves movement between floors, and properties to facilitate work. Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
