Job summary

Siemens in Norcross, GA is seeking a Security System Technician to install, program, start-up and commission CCTV, access control and VMS platforms across the SE US. Travel up to 75% is required, with site work in a variety of environments.

You'll work with customers to ensure safety and efficiency of Smart Buildings, perform testing and commissioning, and support with training and reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in installation/maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems (CCTV, Access Control, VMS)
  • Ability to understand network components and workstation/server OS management
  • Willingness to work in varied environments (mechanical spaces, ladders, ducts; manual handling up to 50 lbs)
  • Must be 18+ with valid driver's license and eligible for Siemens fleet program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification and Acceptance: run routine reports, assist with final inspection and customer training
  • Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination: support scheduling of trades for startup services

Security System Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the installation, programming, start-up, and commissioning of state-of-the-art integrated security systems, including cctv or ip cameras, alarm sensors, access control devices, and software platforms. Our Security System Technicians are the face of Siemens,and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.

Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time within the SE

As aSecurity System Technician, you will:
  • Participate in Operational Testing, Verification, and Acceptance: Run routine reports to review system operation. Participate in final inspection and testing. Support customer acceptance. Assist with customer training on system operations. Complete and submit routine written reports. Identify code and non-conformance issues and make recommendations for system installation
  • Conduct Project Site Communication and Coordination: May support others in the scheduling of trade contractors to coordinate start-up services as needed
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems. i.e.. CCTV, Access Control, Video Management Systems (VMS)
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management
  • Must be willing and able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of large-scale integrated security systems
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents
  • Exposure to CCURE (Software House), Siveillance, Genetec, Vista

The pay range for this position is $49,195 – $84,334 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
