Job summary

Working Alternatives, Inc. in California is seeking a Temporary Traveling Security Monitor to provide shift coverage for residents at a Residential Re Entry Center (RRC). You will play an integral role in maintaining a safe, compliant environment under Bureau of Prisons standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, willingness to travel up to 80% and pass a federal background check. Strong communication, teamwork and adaptability are essential, with daily duties including

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in reentry/correctional field preferred but not required.
• Must have good communication skills and be able to articulate professionally.
• Must pass a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Sign residents in and out of the Center.
• Answer office phones and document calls received from residents.
• Process incoming and releasing residents.
• Conduct resident head counts, room & property searches, and fire safety & hazard inspections.
• Collect urine samples and administer breathalyzer tests.
• Count and issue resident medications as prescribed by resident’s physician.
• Distribute meals as required.
• Supervise resident work assignments and maintain facility sanitation standards daily.
• Write official reports pertaining to resident rule violations.
• Ensure facility is free from hazards through regular security checks and report any non-compliance.
• Control introduction of contraband through searches.
• Process visitors into the Center and ensure compliance with visitor policy.
• Review staff notes and maintain center logs.
• Enforce all rules and regulations of the RRC and the Bureau of Prisons.
• Attend monthly mandatory staff meetings.
• Travel to assist filling shifts at other Working Alternatives, Inc. locations monthly.
• Maintain insurability on company vehicle coverage and valid driver's license.
• Complete all annual training required by contract.
