Job summary

National Heritage Academies (NHA) is seeking a Regional School Psychologist for a local traveling role in Canton, MI, with additional locations. The role offers an arrangement as an Independent Contractor working in-person or hybrid, with flexible scheduling options and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidates must hold valid licensure for the state they are working in.
• Michigan: Michigan School Psychologist certificate or Preliminary School Psychologist certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret standardized assessments to evaluate cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral functioning.
• Conduct comprehensive psychological and psycho-educational evaluations to inform eligibility determinations and intervention planning.
• Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills.
• Assist in development and implementation of IEPs and collaborate with school staff to ensure goals are meaningful and achievable.
• Provide direct counseling to students and consult with families, linking them to additional resources when needed.
• Participate in IEP and Section 504 processes, providing input on assessments, interventions, and progress.
• Support data collection, progress monitoring, and intervention planning.
• Conduct risk assessments for students in crises and coordinate with school teams for appropriate supports.
• Provide training to staff on behavior management, trauma-informed practices, and mental health awareness.
• Support school-wide initiatives promoting a positive climate.
• Maintain accurate caseload records and service logs; update Special Education administration on changes.
• Attend parent-teacher meetings and IEP-related meetings as needed.
