Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to support the Project Staff in executing safety standards on construction sites in Macon, Georgia. The role involves developing safety programs, conducting orientations, leading safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, at least 3 years of safety experience in building construction, and OSHA 30-hour accreditation. This is a full-time traveling position with a focus on fostering a zero-injury safety culture.

Qualifications

• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• At least 3 years of safety experience or a combination of education and experience in building construction.
• Knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation required.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
• Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of the project safety program.
• Conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees.
• Administer and record participation in the orientation program.
• Conduct pre-planning safety meetings with subcontractors.
• Facilitate training for site personnel ensuring compliance.
• Maintain logs of subcontractor toolbox safety meetings.
• Conduct regular jobsite inspections and complete safety checklist.
• Report violations and unsafe practices to subcontractors.
• Investigate incidents and generate proper reports.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and attend project staff meetings.
