Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a full-time Safety Manager in Chattanooga, TN. This role supports project staff and executes safety standards in compliance with regulations. You will develop safety programs, conduct inspections, facilitate training, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of safety experience in construction, strong management skills, and is proficient in Microsoft Office. Travel is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
• At least 3 years of safety experience or a combination of education/multiple years experience in building construction.
• Working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
• OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
• OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
• Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of the project safety program.
• Establish and conduct jobsite orientation for new project employees.
• Administer and record orientation participation and issue identification.
• Attend initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives.
• Conduct and document pre-planning safety meetings.
• Establish and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Facilitate training for site personnel according to standards.
• Maintain a log of each subcontractor toolbox safety meeting.
• Review subcontractor safety programs to enforce compliance.
• Ensure each subcontractor designates a safety representative.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and complete the safety checklist.
• Prepare reports of violations and unsafe practices.
• Stop any violations or unsafe acts immediately.
• Assist in fire prevention and control procedures.
• Investigate all incidents and generate reports.
• Establish and maintain required safety records.
• Conduct monthly overview safety meetings.
• Perform other necessary duties.
