Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) to support railroad flagging services for Class 1 Railroads and other clients. The role requires travel 50–85% and the ability to coordinate with dispatchers, crews, and contractors.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years in a Class 1 railroad or related field, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position with safety training and on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years experience with Class 1 Railroad or similar entities.
• Proficient with basic email, phone, and text communications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate jobsite activities and communicate with Dispatchers and crews.
• Provide clear, concise job briefings for all personnel on site.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal policies on location.
• Identify violations and resolve per applicable policies.
• Submit daily field reports detailing activities and progress.
• Ensure On-Track Safety complies with 49 CFR 214 regulations.
