Job summary

Ovation Hospice is seeking an experienced, hands-on Regional Director of Nursing to lead across Phoenix, Denver, and Salt Lake City. The role demands travel, interim DON support, and clinical leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and a strong nursing team.

You will case-manage patients, cover on-call duties, and collaborate with market Directors to maintain operational excellence and staff development.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in AZ, CO or UT (NLC).
• BSN degree is required.
• 5+ years hospice nursing experience including 3+ years in DON or equivalent leadership.

Responsibilities

• Travel regularly to Ovation's markets to stay connected with teams and patients.
• Case manage patients, take on-call duties, and fill clinical gaps in any market.
• Step in as acting Director of Nursing when DON is unavailable, managing scope and staff.
• Partner with the Director of Clinical Services to mentor local Directors of Nursing and staff.
• Support clinical documentation review and pre-bill audit readiness across markets.
• Partner with the VP of Operations on coverage and nursing support decisions.
• Actively help drive nursing staff recruiting to build strong permanent leaders and teams.
