Job summary

Tiello LLC in Columbus, OH is seeking a Field Service Technician (Refrigeration) to service and repair ammonia and Freon-based industrial refrigeration systems across Ohio. You will troubleshoot compressors, electrical controls, and safety systems, perform routine maintenance, and deliver expert diagnostics in cold storage environments.

This is a travel-based, hands-on role offering strong pay, benefits, and clear paths for career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on field experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
• CARO or CIRO certification a plus.
• Ability to work independently, travel daily throughout Ohio, and occasionally work nights/weekends.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and compressor control systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing screw compressors and refrigeration alarms/control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Valid driver`s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work safely at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on a wide variety of ammonia and Freon-based industrial refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving screw and reciprocating compressors, electrical systems, and alarm/control systems.
• Deliver expert-level diagnostics and hands‑on repairs on complex systems in food, beverage, and cold storage environments.
• Respond to routine and emergency service calls with professionalism, urgency, and clear communication.
• Maintain a clean, organized work truck, including tools and parts inventory.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies on‑site and while traveling.
• Accurately complete service reports, document findings, and communicate recommendations to clients and team members.
