Job description

Traveling Quality Manager

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a Quality Manager to ensure that all project management processes and technical aspects of construction, including those provided by subcontractors and suppliers, comply with corporate policies and contract requirements. You will support project teams to implement effective procedures to ensure that installations, workmanship, and materials meet contract standards. Additionally, you will verify adherence to the Aldridge Quality Program.

What you’ll do:

  1. Visit construction sites nationwide, audit project management and quality processes, and observe installation practices to ensure effective implementation of Aldridge Quality & PM practices.
  2. Assist project teams in establishing all deliverables of the Aldridge Quality Program.
  3. Oversee and audit quality processes at job sites.
  4. Prioritize, schedule, and conduct quality audits on-site or remotely.
  5. Investigate non-conforming work or quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions, maintaining records of all non-conformities.
  6. Ensure project teams identify and track inspections, testing, and deficiencies.
  7. Advise project teams and management of quality deficiencies requiring corrective actions.
  8. Assist in preparatory meetings with subcontractors and clients as needed.
  9. Monitor installation techniques to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  10. Verify that all testing aligns with specifications and is properly documented.
  11. Ensure subcontractors and suppliers adhere to established quality programs.
  12. Develop and maintain positive relationships with project teams and senior management.
  13. Review Quality KPIs with QPM and QM teams to identify training needs.
  14. Collaborate on developing training curricula for quality topics and participate as an instructor when requested.
  15. Report rework details and trends to aid in KPI reporting.
  16. Immediately notify stakeholders of high-risk areas identified during projects.
  17. Travel as required for site visits.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a successful union trade background with relevant experience (minimum 7 years), or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of construction quality management or auditing experience.
  • Preferred certifications include ISO 9001 or US Army Corps of Engineers quality management qualifications.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality programs and manuals.
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, codes, standards, and contracts, with the ability to interpret specifications and enforce quality standards.
  • Experience in conducting project audits and providing feedback.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects under pressure.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Bluebeam and Procore experience is a plus.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to report on quality program status and challenges effectively.

The annual base salary ranges from $85,000 to $125,000, depending on experience and other factors. This role may also include a vehicle allowance and bonus opportunities.
