Job summary

South Shore Stars is seeking a traveling Preschool Teacher Assistant to support development needs of children across Weymouth, Randolph, and Quincy centers. The role requires flexible, full-time availability and reliable transportation.

You will assist with curriculum, classroom setup, monitoring activities, and coordinating with staff and parents. The position involves travel among sites and coverage of absences as needed.

Qualifications

• Able to support developmental needs of children in early childhood settings.
• Some experience working with young children.
• Willing to travel between centers and cover shifts on short notice.
• Coursework in early childhood education desirable.
• Warm, nurturing personality with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be available to work a flexible full-time schedule, sometimes with location changes, on very short notice to meet staffing requirements.
• Participate in implementing curriculum and classroom activities.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining classroom environment, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor children’s activities individually and in groups.
• Confer with other center staff regarding educational and social progress.
• Attend staff, team, and curriculum meetings, training and supervision as required.
• Help organize and attend Center parent meetings and other Center events.
• Refer concerns expressed by parents to appropriate teacher and share observations regarding parent-child interactions.
• Prepare breakfast and snacks.
• All other assigned duties.
