Job summary

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is seeking a Traveling Orthodontic Assistant to support the orthodontist across Hamlet, Southern Pines, and Fayetteville locations, with Fridays off. You will provide chairside assistance, prepare operatory stations, assist with radiographs and iTero scans, take impressions, and help track Invisalign cases to ensure timely appointments.

Under direct supervision, you will reinforce oral hygiene instructions, maintain inventory, sterilize instruments, and uphold

Qualifications

• Certificate required to act as chairside dental assistant.
• Current NC X-Ray Certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
• Reliable transportation to multiple offices.

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Reinforce oral hygiene and at-home care instructions.
• Seat and prepare patients for treatment, including arch wire adjustments.
• Clean and disinfect operatories after procedures.
• Prepare and organize tray setups for upcoming procedures.
• Monitor operatory supplies and restocking needs.
• Sterilize instruments per safety protocols.
• Expose and develop radiographs.
• Utilize iTero scanner for orthodontic records.
• Take impressions and pour dental models as needed.
• Track Invisalign cases to ensure readiness for appointments.
• Maintain dental supply inventory systems and OSHA compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
