Job summary

Gurwin Healthcare System is seeking a Traveling Occupational Therapist to cover Western Suffolk and Nassau Counties in New York. The role requires a NY OT license and at least three years of OT experience, with home health preferred. Travel to patients’ homes and independent clinical decisions are essential.

Candidates should be comfortable with laptop/tablet use during visits and delivering patient education. Excellent salary and dynamic work environment offered.

Qualifications

• New York State OT license is required.
• Minimum of three years experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Home health experience is preferred.
• Comfortable with using laptop/tablet on home visits.

Responsibilities

• Report initial status, changes, therapy plans and discharge plans for patients.
• Provide timely documentation including assessments, plans, goals, visit notes and billing data.
• Instruct patients and families on programs to enhance care and follow-up.
• Evaluate patient environment and implement feasible recommendations.
• Comply with regulatory criteria and communicate visit schedules.
• Provide clinical leadership and attend continuing education.
