Job summary

UPMC's Physician Network seeks a Medical Assistant to float between multiple physician practices in Erie. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–4:30pm, with travel across Erie to various locations. No holidays, evenings, or weekends.

Starting pay varies with experience. Adaptability and exposure to multiple practices are valued. Responsibilities include patient flow, vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs, record-keeping, and assisting physicians with procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/BLS certification required per policy.
• Act 31/33/34/73 clearances renewal as applicable.
• Basic computer literacy and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam rooms and assist with transfers.
• Process and relay patient information, vitals, and history per provider guidelines.
• Handle medical records, HIPAA compliance, and insurance verification.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain infection control, restock supplies, and manage charts.
