Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field technician for diverse commercial installations across multiple states. You will handle MDF/IDF rack deployments, cable pulls, and integration of routers, switches, and WAPs, as well as cameras, alarms, POS, and access control systems.

The role requires 3+ years in low‑voltage work, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 9 hours to sites. Own tools and reliable transportation are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in the low‑voltage field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with network rack/stack, cable pulling, VoIP installation.
• Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN/VPN, routers, and switches.
• Ability to configure static IPs and console into routers.
• Familiarity with MPOEs, DMARCs, and network terminations.
• Own tools and transportation; bring test and measurement tools.
• Follows SOPs and problem solving.
• Experience with AnyDesk, Office suites, and related software.
• Experience setting up routers, switches, WAPs, TVs, speakers, cameras.
• Understanding of static/dynamic IPs; troubleshoot CMD, PING, Tracer.
• Knowledge of networking terminology, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install MDF and IDF rack‑and‑stack deployments and perform cable pulling.
• Install routers, switches, wireless access points, and other network devices.
• Deploy security cameras, alarm systems, POS, digital menu boards, TVs, and access control systems.
• Travel across Texas, Illinois, Florida, and the West Coast with regular extended drives.
• Drive extensively, sometimes up to 9 hours to reach job sites.
• Adapt to fast‑paced environments and meet hard start times when driving to sites.
