Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to join our team in Wisconsin. The role entails installing, altering and repairing electrical systems under supervision, with opportunities to mentor helpers and apprentices and to learn other divisions such as low voltage and controls.

You will read blueprints and project specs, measure, cut, bend, and install conduits and devices, and troubleshoot lighting and power circuits while supporting safety and teamwork on site.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years' experience in electrical construction in commercial/industrial settings.
• Own tools per company policy and ability to use them.
• Must demonstrate safety and teamwork.
• Able to work weekends/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
