Job summary

Telcom Construction, LLC is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage stock, ensure accurate tracking, and maintain optimal levels across facilities. You will participate in cycle counts, audits, reporting, and coordination with supply chain teams to support project needs.

Responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, timing material orders for best price, and ensuring on-time delivery. The role requires forklift certification, DOT health card, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
  • Pass background check and drug tests.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Knowledge of Internet software, database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Must maintain a current DOT health card certificate.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Class A driver’s license preferred.
  • Travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stock with accurate tracking and optimal levels; coordinate with supply chain teams.
  • Issue POs and schedule material orders for best pricing and on-time delivery.
  • Organize inventory and yard at facilities.
  • Order and coordinate project supplies for timely delivery.
  • Receive material shipments and verify order content.
  • Handle and store material shipments physically or mechanically.
  • Create reports for Min/Max, material demand, forecast and budget.
  • Manage inventory for specific jobs by staging materials from each job’s pick list.
  • Communicate inventory needs to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensure proper documentation of inventory by all workers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain inventory lists by location and track changes using inventory systems.
  • Conduct physical inventory reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies.
  • Lead at the site for all customer material requests and check-outs.
  • Deliver material to other locations or job sites as needed.
  • Participate in Company Safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • As our Inventory Specialist, you will manage stock, ensuring accurate tracking, optimal levels, and efficient movement of goods, involving duties like cycle counts, audits, reporting, and coordinating with supply chain teams.
  • Maintain responsibility for the material purchasing process including issuing POs, determining appropriate timing of material orders (ensuring best price) and purchase tracking (ensuring in-time delivery).
  • Maintain organization of inventory and yard at assigned facilities.
  • Order and coordinate project supplies to arrive on time and at the correct location.
  • Receive new material shipments and verify order content and completeness.
  • Physically or mechanically handle and store new material shipments.
  • Develop and create reporting for Min/Max levels, material demand, forecast and budget purposes.
  • Manage inventory for specific jobs by staging materials from each job’s pick list.
  • Communicate inventory needs to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Aid in holding employees and subcontractors accountable to appropriate documentation of inventory as it is taken and returned to designated yards/warehouses.
  • Maintain location(s) inventory list by allocating inventory to individual jobs and tracking inventory changes using a scanner, computer and/or inventory system software.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct physical inventory reconciliations and follow-up on inventory discrepancies.
  • Act as the primary lead at the site for all customer material requests and check-outs.
  • Deliver material to other locations or job sites as needed.
  • Participate in and adhere to all Company Safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • To be 18 years of age or older.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Internet software, database, spreadsheet and word processing software.
  • Must maintain a current DOT health card certificate.
  • Forklift certification.

  • Travel is required.
Physical Abilities & Exposures

The wage range for Traveling Inventory Specialist is $23.00 - $29.00.
