Job summary

Quantum Industrial Services is seeking a Traveling HVAC & Sheet Metal Journeyman to fabricate, install, and service HVAC systems on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across multiple states. You will collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to ensure safe, high-quality installations.

The role requires 5+ years of HVAC and sheet metal experience, ductwork fabrication/installation expertise, and the ability to read blueprints and specifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC and sheet metal experience.
• Strong experience with HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with HVAC equipment, piping, air handlers, chillers, boilers, and related systems.
• Strong measuring, layout, fabrication, and installation skills.
• Experience with system testing, start-up, and commissioning.
• HVAC Journeyman License where required by state or local regulations.
• EPA Section 608 certification where refrigerant handling is required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
• Install HVAC equipment and related mechanical components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Measure, lay out, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal components.
• Support equipment installation, start-up, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot installation and system issues.
• Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
• Follow OSHA and company safety requirements, including PPE and confined-space procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Coordinate with Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, and other trades.
• Maintain accurate installation, testing, and project documentation.
• Assist with training and mentoring apprentices and less-experienced team members.
