Job summary

Musco is seeking a Field Technician for our Sports Lighting division in Fontana, CA. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and inspection of Musco warranty products in the field, with extensive travel and operation of aerial lifts.

The position requires post-high school education in mechanical or electrical trades, and an electrical license or the pursuit thereof. CDL class A is preferred, along with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Post-high school education in mechanical or electrical trades or equivalent experience preferred.
• Electrical license or ability to obtain license preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Drivers’ License required; Class A CDL preferred.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills and experience.
• Electrical license or work toward obtaining preferred.
• Excellent technical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Strong personal initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
• Basic computer, email, and internet skills for receiving work instructions and reporting.
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Compliance with Federal DOT rules, including drug/alcohol testing and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and inspection of equipment and Musco warranty product.
• Warranty repairs on lighting projects, including working from ladders and in aerial lifts; climb light poles and towers.
• Coordinate project time frames with customers, vendors, and resources.
• Maintain communication with Warranty Hub Manager about duties and schedules.
• Safe operation and inspection of Musco aerial equipment daily/weekly/monthly.
• Provide detailed written field reports and complete paperwork within a week.
• Package and ship RMA-related Musco parts for evaluation.
• Provide leadership to crew and coordinate issues with vendors and customers where project management is assigned.
• Drive and operate Musco equipment on service projects; a CDL may be required.
• Make solid daily expense-related decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
