Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a team of Traveling Field Inspectors to work on remediation projects in the field alongside site supervisors and project managers. The role focuses on keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and safe, with extensive travel across the United States.

Compensation includes $25/HR with significant overtime, per diem during the 6-week rotations, and provided accommodations. Rotation patterns vary, with 6 weeks out and 1 week home; training like Hazwoper/OSHA 10 is provided

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hazwoper certification and OSHA 10 training preferred.
  • Groundwater sampling experience a plus.
  • Construction/remediation/dirt work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work in field alongside site supervisors and project managers to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Accurately document site activities including logs, reports and meetings using a laptop or mobile device.
  • Assist with cost tracking, waste shipping logs and manifest management.
  • Calibrate air monitoring meters and Health & Safety equipment as needed.
  • Support project administrative tasks and generation of required reports.

Job description

Clean Harbors is seeking a team of Traveling Field Inspectors. The Field Inspectors will work on remediation projects in the field alongside the site supervisors and/or project managers attached to the project to make sure the project is running on schedule, budget and operating in a safe manner.

Pay: $25/HR, with considerable OT available while traveling.

Other Pay: Per Diem available during the 6-week rotation; considerable overtime available in the field.

Location: United States

Travel 95-100% required: 6 weeks out and 1 week home paid. Sometimes the rotations will vary a little longer or shorter as needed to service the business.

Accommodations: Individual accommodations are provided, typically in an extended stay type of hotel with a kitchenette if the market allows.

**Per Diem available daily, travel costs covered by the company.

  • Work in field with hands on labor alongside crew and Project Manager/Field Service Supervisor;
  • Travel to different project locations including Wastewater Treatment plants, soil remediation locations, and more;
  • Reading and understanding of project documents and contracts;
  • Will gain 40-hour Hazwoper, OSHA 10 and possibly more certifications through the company;
  • Learn to calibrate air monitoring meters and associated Health & Safety equipment;
  • Work on project financial tracking and assist in various project administrative functions, including generation of required reports, etc.;
  • Ordering and receiving supplies for projects;
  • Possibly operate some heavy equipment;
  • Other duties as required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required;
  • Groundwater sampling experience a plus;
  • Construction, remediation or dirt work experience is highly preferred;
  • Be safety orientated and have a commitment to safety;
  • Willing to do manual labor;
  • Willing to work outside in all kinds of weather, utilizing prescribed Personal Protective Equipment;
  • Valid DL and clean MVR required;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and professional level written / oral communication skills. Civil Engineering / construction / survey experience a plus.
