Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians to support large-scale deployments across multiple U.S. locations. You will install fiber, assemble racks, splice fiber, manage cables, and troubleshoot physical layer issues.

Candidates with data center, fiber optics, and rack-and-stack experience are highly preferred. This contract role is based out of Dallas, TX with travel across sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Experience running and installing fiber optic cabling.
• Rack-and-stack experience in a data center, telecommunications, or related technical environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to fiber infrastructure and physical layer connectivity.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.
• Ability to take direction, adapt to changing project needs, and work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the data center industry.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cabling throughout data center facilities.
• Assemble, install, and organize data center racks and cabinets.
• Perform fiber splicing and maintain proper cable management standards.
• Complete rack-and-stack activities, including server installations and top-of-rack connections.
• Install and organize patch cabling between servers, network equipment, and Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs).
• Troubleshoot physical layer connectivity issues and support site commissioning efforts.
• Respond to infrastructure-related service tickets and assist in resolving network connectivity problems.
• Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and project specifications.
