Description du poste

Traveling DAS Cable Technician
Company Overview

Prime Connected is a Midwest-based low voltage infrastructure company with a national footprint. We deploy network infrastructure, wireless systems, and healthcare technology solutions across the United States, with a strong focus on in‑building wireless for hospitals and other large facilities.

We believe in building strong teams, delivering high-quality installations, and creating real growth opportunities for technicians who want to expand their skills and take on more responsibility.

The Opportunity

As a Traveling DAS Cable Technician, you will play a key role in installing and supporting Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) that keep critical wireless communication running inside hospitals and major facilities nationwide. This is hands‑on field work where your craftsmanship, troubleshooting ability, and commitment to safety directly impact system performance.

If you enjoy traveling, working on complex technical installations, and taking the lead in the field, this role offers a clear path to grow your experience in low voltage, RF systems, and in‑building wireless infrastructure.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, route, and terminate coaxial, fiber optic, and structured cabling to support in‑building DAS deployments in hospitals and large facilities.
  • Mount and align antennas and related RF components while following engineering designs, floor plans, and strict safety and quality standards.
  • Perform RF sweep testing, PIM testing, fusion splicing, fiber terminations, and OTDR testing to validate system performance.
  • Troubleshoot coverage and connectivity issues in the field, working with project managers and customers to keep projects moving forward.
  • Lead or mentor installation crew members, maintain accurate documentation and inventory, and support site surveys and project closeout.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within the first 3-6 months, you consistently complete DAS cabling and antenna installs that pass quality checks and testing with minimal rework.
  • You reliably perform RF and fiber testing (sweep, PIM, OTDR) and clearly document results for project managers and customers.
  • You become a go‑to field resource who can help plan daily work, solve on‑site issues, and keep installations on schedule while traveling 90-95% of the time.
  • You earn the trust of your crew and leadership by mentoring junior technicians, following safety procedures, and representing Prime Connected professionally at customer sites.
What We’re Looking For
  • DAS installation experience and at least two years of low voltage cabling experience in the field.
  • Proven hands‑on experience installing coax, fiber, and structured cabling systems in active construction environments.
  • Working knowledge of RF sweep and PIM testing, fusion splicing, fiber terminations, OTDR testing, and use of RF test equipment such as Anritsu or EXFO.
  • Ability to lead or mentor crews, communicate clearly with project managers and customers, stay organized while traveling frequently, lift up to 75 lbs, and work safely on fast‑paced job sites.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Travel is required for most projects, typically 90-95% nationwide.
