Job summary

United States Navy is seeking Linguist or Linguistics specialists to serve as Cryptologic Technicians Interpretive (CTIs). CTIs collect, translate, transcribe and analyze foreign language communications to provide critical intelligence for national security and operational decision-making.

CTIs work with advanced technology, including AI/ML systems, and may be stationed at shore-based centers or deployed aboard vessels. Security requirements apply and service aboard submarines is possible.

Qualifications

• CTIs demonstrate strong character and attention to detail.
• Interest in learning foreign languages and technology.
• Willingness to work with classified material and AI/ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate advanced radio receivers, recording devices, computer terminals and communications systems.
• Translate, interpret and transcribe foreign language communications data.
• Analyze and report highly technical intelligence for fleet commanders and national intelligence agencies.
• Work with classified material and advanced AI and machine learning systems.
• Perform temporary duty aboard Navy surface ships and submarines, based on assignment requirements.
