A leading crane service provider is seeking a full-time Traveling Crane Mechanic. This role involves supporting operations across the US, particularly between the Rockies and the Mississippi River. Candidates should have experience in heavy equipment repair, hydraulic systems, and a valid CDL Class B or higher. Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in heavy equipment or electric power generation system repair.
• 3+ years experience preferably with over-the-road trucks.
• Must have valid CDL Class B or higher.
• CDL Class B or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare service reports accurately and on time.
• Perform inspections on Mobile Cranes and trucks.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Performs PMs and inspections on Mobile Cranes, Over-The-Road trucks, trailers, and small equipment.
• Repairs and maintains equipment and components; maintains a clean work area.
• Operates and tests machines prior to delivery; inspects and installs components.
• Orders replacement parts; ensures correct parts at order time.
• Maintains equipment sold/owned by the company; analyzes repair needs.
• Keeps up with tooling and technology developments; follows safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Summary

Full‑time traveling crane mechanic supporting JMS across the US, generally from the Rockies to the Mississippi River, and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border.

Responsibilities

• Prepares accurate and complete service reports and turns them in on time
• Prepares inspection reports (including DOT Inspections and OSHA/ANSI Crane Annual Inspections)
• Correctly charges work to appropriate work order segments
• Communicates effectively with Maintenance and Parts Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on
• PM and inspections on Mobile Cranes, Over-The-Road trucks, Trailers, small equipment
• Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and component
• Prepares, inspects, and operates machines prior to delivery
• Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts
• Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts orders are correct and complete at the time of order
• Services and maintains equipment sold and/or owned by the company
• Tests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures
• Analyzes customer repair and maintenance requirements
• Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems
• Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment
• Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria
• Makes parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred
• 3+ years experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair, hydraulic repair preferred
• 3+ years experience preferably with over-the-road trucks preferred
• Must be able to pass a drug screen, MVR and background check
• CDL Class B or higher preferred
