Job summary

United Contractor Services, LLC is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to lead self-perform interiors crews on commercial projects across the U.S. You will manage from layout to closeout, coordinating with the GC superintendent and other trades to keep work safe, on schedule, and to spec.

You will travel full time, with company-paid lodging and per diem, and you will mentor crews, drive look-ahead schedules, and ensure quality on complex interior builds.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• 3+ years as a superintendent on commercial construction projects.
• Willingness and ability to travel full time to project sites nationwide.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, ceilings, walls, and specs.

• Plan and manage daily manpower and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate sequencing with the GC supervisor and other trades.
• Schedule material deliveries, stocking, and equipment with PMs and vendors.
• Direct field crews with clear expectations on performance, quality, and accountability.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specs, and fire-rated assembly requirements.
• Record daily logs, manpower reports, progress photos, and change orders.

We're expanding our field leadership team and looking for a driven Superintendent ready to take ownership on job sites nationwide.

The Role

As a Traveling Construction Superintendent, you'll be the boots-on-the-ground leader for our self-perform interiors crews, keeping projects moving safely, on schedule, and to spec. You'll run our scope on site from layout through punch and closeout, working directly with our project managers, the general contractor's superintendent, and other trades on site. This is a full-time travel position supporting commercial interior projects across the U.S., with company-paid lodging and per diem.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead all on-site interiors work from initial framing layout through drywall, finishes, ceilings, punch, and closeout
• Plan and manage daily manpower, build look-ahead schedules within the GC's master schedule, and keep crews productive
• Coordinate daily with the GC superintendent and other trades on sequencing, area turnover, and conflicts in the field
• Schedule material deliveries, stocking, and equipment such as lifts with our project managers and vendors
• Direct and support field crews and foremen, setting clear expectations for performance, quality, and accountability
• Make sure work meets drawings, specs, and UL fire-rated assembly requirements, and prepare for above-ceiling, cover, and framing inspections
• Get ahead of problems by flagging scope gaps, field conflicts, and extra work early, and document them so change orders get written and paid
• Keep thorough records, including daily logs, manpower reports, progress photos, and change order documentation
• Champion a jobsite safety culture grounded in industry best practices and OSHA standards

What You Bring

• 3+ years as a superintendent on commercial construction projects, with drywall, metal framing, or acoustical ceiling experience strongly preferred
• Subcontractor-side field leadership experience preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel full time to project sites nationwide
• Strong layout proficiency on complex commercial interiors, including laser layout and control lines
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, reflected ceiling plans, wall types, and specifications with confidence
• Working knowledge of fire-rated assemblies, deflection and head-of-wall details, and drywall finish levels
• Experience running manpower and look-ahead schedules on fast-paced jobs
• Sharp attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work
• Clear, effective communicator with general contractors, crews, and internal project teams
• OSHA 30 certification (required)
• Comfort with technology and cloud-based field reporting platforms. We'll handle training and tools.
