Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Traveling Concrete Superintendent to lead concrete construction and handle field operations from day one, ensuring on-time completion within budget and per specs.

Responsibilities include managing manpower, directing crews, coordinating equipment, and maintaining thorough project records while upholding ARCO’s safety programs and policies.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting major concrete projects.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict Resolution skills.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish speaking is highly desirable.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver license in your state of residence.

  • Review requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and progress reports.
  • Maintain daily diary recording project facts, events, and approvals.

About You

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a Traveling Concrete Superintendent. You'll have the opportunity to manage the concrete construction and the administrative activities associated with the field operations of a project from day one! Bringing the project to completion on schedule, within budget, and per the project specifications.

A Day In The Life
  • Assure that adequate manpower is provided as required to meet construction schedules
  • Analyze and assist general superintendent in determining construction equipment requirements, provide necessary equipment as required to utilize manpower efficiently, and release equipment when not required
  • Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work
  • Direct and supervise the activities of carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers and laborers in the performance of their regular duties
  • Inform all supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes
  • Review and assist project manager in the approval of all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, progress payment requests, and other significant reports and documents
  • Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules
  • Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress
  • Maintain a daily diary to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements and approvals
  • Direct adherence to the company's safety program in all phases and areas of the project
  • Become familiar with all company policies and adhere strictly to them in all activities and dealings, and require all employees to be aware of them and conform to them in their activities
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned
Necessary Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience performing a variety of tasks to support one or more major concrete projects at any given time. Tilt-up concrete and cast in place wall experience considered a major plus.
  • Able to make decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver license in your state of residence.
  • Bi-Lingual English and Spanish speaking highly desirable.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
